As a new author . . . . .one who had never considered being a new author . . . . I felt that having my own blog perhaps would be a way to market my book, "On Being a REAL Princess, Secrets of the Happy Heart Princess", a book dealing with SELF ESTEEM for young girls. But then I asked myself if I really had anything new to say on my blog that has not already been said. Perhaps not but my story has it’s own spin and as such, I believe has value in being told. As a child of an alcoholic father and a schizophrenic mother, my childhood was full of disappointments and very tough times. When I look back on those days, I often ask what it was that helped me to survive. It was THE DREAM that there is a better and brighter day. It was that knowledge in my innermost core that I had the strength and the character to survive and that some day, my life would be good. Surely one of the byproducts of MY DREAM could be described as SELF ESTEEM. So the first thing I wanted to explore in this blog is the connection/relationship between THE DREAM and SELF ESTEEM. Isn’t it that dream about what we can do and be that contributes to our core value and and what we describe as SELF ESTEEM? Perhaps the DREAM is an essential component of becoming a self assured, successful and happy person. And if it is about the DREAM, how do we help our young girls to envision the DREAM and then move toward it? “On Being a REAL Princess, Secrets of the Happy Heart Princess, truly does plant the seeds for envisioning that DREAM and becoming a REAL Princess from the inside out.
